1. Poe system configuration
Poe system configuration management is the core content of managed Poe switches. With this function, PSE power supply system can provide users with intelligent power management, including power distribution, equipment power classification, Poe port switch, Poe port timing power supply, etc.
(1) Poe function on
The user can enable or disable the remote power supply feature of the port according to the network needs. By default, all Poe ports are powered off.
(2) Configure the power available to the port
The user can configure the maximum output power of the port according to the transmission rate, transmission distance, cable type, wire diameter and other factors of the POE switch port, and comply with the provisions of relevant standards.
(3) Configure port power supply priority
Three types of port power supply priorities can be set, from high to low: critical, high and low. When the power consumed by PD equipment is greater than the total power that PSE can provide, PSE can give priority to power supply to key equipment according to the power supply priority of each port. If different ports have the same priority, the priority is sorted according to the port number.
By logging into the POE management page of the managed Poe switch, the user can set the POE function on / off, set the input power, maximum overload, reserved power, etc.
2. Protection mechanism and monitoring
The standard PSE equipment can automatically detect the PD equipment and only supply power to the detected standard attached PD equipment. If the underlying device is not a PD device, PSE will not supply power to the device.
PSE will also detect the power parameters of the hanging equipment and deal with PD exceeding the upper limit specified in the standard. The process of PSE is as follows:
PSE supplies power to the equipment. After power supply, if PSE detects that its current is too large, PSE's power management function will power off the port and give a certain penalty time; During the penalty time, PSE will not detect this port. After this time, PSE will detect this port again, and then repeat the following process.
In addition, PSE equipment can automatically detect port power loss, short circuit, overcurrent and other abnormal phenomena and turn off power output to protect Poe equipment and ensure equipment safety.
3. Intelligent operation and maintenance
The network managed Poe equipment with management function can manage the power supply through the network, remotely monitor and control the power supply, and realize automatic maintenance.
